The University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland (HES SO) is a practice oriented university that prepares students to become professional, and socially engaged graduates ready to contribute to a rapidly evolving society. It fosters creativity, critical thinking, and applied skills across a wide range of fields, such as Economics and Services, Engineering and Architecture, Health, Social Work, Design and Visual Arts as well as Music and Performing Arts. HES-SO spreads over the 6 Cantons of the French speaking part of Switzerland.

With over 6,000 students, HES SO Genève offers Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs in all six major domains of HES-SO. Through its six member schools: HEPIA, HEG, HEAD, HEM, HEdS, and HETS, the institution combines rigorous academic foundations with hands on professional experience.

HES SO Participates to the SHERLOCK project through its Geneva Economics and Services Antenna, HEG Geneva. Its mission encompasses the core activities of academic and applied research and education. These activities cater to the specific needs of the Geneva region and supported by strong networks at the national and international level.

Team members

Sabine Emad has a PhD in Information Systems from the University of Lausanne, an MBA from IMD Lausanne and a Master in Economics from the University of Lausanne. Her areas of Research specialize in teaching through games and simulations and gamification. Before joining HEG Geneva as Professor of Marketing, she worked in top level positions in the areas of Customer Loyalty, Direct Marketing, E-channels and Customer Services, mostly in the Telecom and Tourism industries. Before Sherlock, she also participated in the Erasmus+ supported project BrandY.

She teaches Marketing, Market research and Consumer Behavior in the Business and Economics department of HEG Geneva.

Léana Mannshardt graduated with a Master’s degree in the Programme Grande École, specializing in Marketing, from EM Strasbourg (France). She is currently a PhD student under joint supervision at HEG-Genève and the University of Neuchâtel.

Driven by creativity and always eager to learn, she is passionate about consumer behavior, social marketing, and teaching. Léana aspires to become a professor, where she can make learning both meaningful and engaging while having an impact through research.
